The Finnish Musicological Society was established in 1911 by Ilmari Krohn. The society promotes Finnish musicological research by publishing a peer-reviewed quarterly journal Musiikki as well as books, and by organizing various scientifically-oriented events (e.g., a yearly national symposium in collaboration with The Finnish Ethnomusicological Society).

Currently most of the published material is in Finnish, but the society has also published books in other languages (English, German, and Spanish). For more information, please contact secretary: mts.toimisto[at]gmail.com, or see list of publications.
